2600 Berlina in Soviet Union. It had a weird number plate - 06-80 Проба (means 06-80 Prova)

Based on the existing databases the number plates belonged to NAMI (The Central Scientific Research Automobile and Automotive Engines Institute)

I can think only about using this car as an reference/evaluation for the V6 engine that was planned for GAZ 24 Volga.
The V6 was developed by GAZ and NAMI in two different projects. GAZ developed V6 with 60 degrees between the banks (the design was similar to Ford Essex) and NAMI cut 2 cylinders from V8 (GAZ 13 Chaika) and got V6 with 90 degrees.

The V6 project was developed in 1962-64 and eventually the preference was given to the GAZ V6-60, but it was not put in production.

very interesting, yes maybe some kind of test/evaluation. Where is the photo from? I wonder if there's some test article in some historic magazine...

The origin of the photo is from the automotive memorabilia collector. He posted on his facebook page few pictures of italian cars in USSR. There is no article about it. I done the research of the number plate and posted my thoughts :D It was a common practice in Soviet Union to buy Western cars for comparison tests and engineering /design evaluation. Back in the early 60s the only one project existed, the V6, for which the 2600 could be used.
Unfortunately NAMI archive is not available online so we can't do a deeper research

Veramente molto interessante, sapevo anch'io che nella vecchia URSS venivano acquistate auto occidentali (ma anche americane) per poterle studiare.
